It really looks like while I finished that ugly garage renovation stuff I can quietly and smartly publish new and new quality articles based on a car restoration theme. In the meanime when I was removing that chic (not sh*t) chamois from arm rests (first and second parts) I also began with trying to make the rear window molding to look like original. I assume that you've already explored your detailed archives with photos of my Camaro but for those who have not or have had poor memory I'll try to make an overview:
As you see, a German traditional folk creativity made its work and tried to realize the molding in an impressive, highly self-peeling, color.
Firstly I tried to remove the paint with an assistance of the glorious glue&seal remover by Weicon company but the results were not too impressive. Therefore a brute force with the superfine abrasive (sand) paper, own nails and a mop had to be used. I selected those, most excellent artistic photos, which best reflects the results.
The molding were wax-polished because of flawless effect. Unfortunately they are on few places slightly worn out, not my guilt. Now I'm just looking for the next interesting and practical tasks which are awaiting me in the near future. I'm shivering which treasures I'll found underneath the chamois rugs...
